Update!

To say that I've done a "bad job" at blogging over the last several months would be something of an understatement. I'm reasonably sure that the people that don't have an RSS feed on this site have pretty much given up.

Let's recap the larger events of this year to date.

New Job: Started as a contractor for a company that does so-called "triple play" network services in January. Triple play here is a combination of voice, video, and data over DSL. After an experience with their HR that can only be described as hellacious, they brought me on as a contractor for three months. My contract elapsed in March and they offered (demanded?) to bring me on full time. So, my official "start" date here is March 24th. I am essentially the lead technical liaison to a massive soul-stealing company that I now hate from the darkest reaches of my soul. Also, after I was brought on full time they decided that it would be a decent idea to almost completely change my role in the company so that I do virtually nothing technical anymore. I have grown to hate it and I have been actively searching for a new job for about two weeks now. I know I am readily employable, ergo my resume was officially on the market for 4, that's "four", hours before I started receiving callbacks. I'm so very happy I know how to write a resume and that it's full of good bullet points.

The Boy: Phil and I are still happily together. He's been busy as ever with medical school and whatnot. He's currently enjoying a much deserved long-weekend in Mexico with friends. We'll probably take a trip or two this summer and get out of the valley. I'm looking forward to doing something even though I don't really know what it will be yet.

My Car: Back in February I decided that it was time for Chris to get a new car. I could have made a conservative, fiscally responsible choice but I didn't; I decided that I needed a BMW M-Roadster. Holy shit, is that car awesome. If I remember I'll put a picture up at some point. Even my parents love it, especially my mom. She's demanded that when I travel out of town that I leave it with her at her place so she can drive it around. Hell, the first night I got it I let her and my dad take it for a drive and I could hear her laughing from a half-mile away. It was glorious. My other favorite response so far has been Jason referring to my car as an "ass net." Supposedly if I wanted to I could go to the bar and just sweep up the ladies (men?) with it. Phil claims I purchased a status symbol, which is true given the number of strangers that walk up to ogle it. I prefer to think of it as me purchasing "zoooom."

Momoko-Maynard Group: The MM group is officially off the ground. We have finished filing our articles of organization at the AZ Corporate Commission. We have business bank accounts, we have signed several stars, and things are well underway. The first of our sites should hopefully be launching at some point this summer. We are actively working on getting our revenue stream going so Heidi can quit and then proceed to do it full time. At which point we will dominate.

I have no real plans for this coming weekend except to relax and get in some gaming. I've been needing some rest and relaxation. Now we just have to see if I can actually sit still and relax.
